1. Eligibility Criteria
(1) Residency: Must be a resident of Australia.
(2) Age and Education: The contestants must be less than 20 years old on the first day of the competition and should be high school students living in the country that they are representing.
(3) Entry Requirements: Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria to qualify:
Highly preferred Achievements:
- ● The AMOC Senior Contest.
- ● Australian Invitational Informatics Olympiad.
- ● OzCLO Senior Gold 75% above.
- ● At least 300 hours dedicated to international contests involving Python.
Standard Achievements:
- ● Medal in the Australian Informatics Olympiad (AIO).
- ● Distinction in the Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO).
- ● Gold in the Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad (OzCLO).
- ● Prize Award in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC).
- ● Intermediate – Advanced AI Training Classes.

3. Selection Process
Contestants should be selected based on participation in a country-wide contest in informatics, mathematics, linguistics, or a related field held by a recognised national organisation.
(1) Preliminary Selection:
The selection committee will review all applications to shortlist 10 candidates. The results will be announced by May 26th.
(2) Selection Test and Training:
Shortlisted candidates will advance to a competitive assessment phase to vie for positions on Australia’s IOAI National Team. Successful applicants will engage in specialized weekend workshops designed to refine their technical expertise and collaborative problem-solving abilities.
(3) Communication:
All applicants will be updated about their status via email. Candidates advancing to the final stage will receive detailed information about the next steps in the selection process.
(4) International Competition:
The highest-achieving students will be selected to form two squads, each consisting of four participants, to represent Australia at the IOAI championship. They will challenge the brightest AI minds from across the world in a showcase of innovation and skill.
